Elective Module, winter semester

The Structural Research seminar is dedicated to the investigation and development of innovative load-bearing structures. The objective is to apply scientific methods to develop practical, constructive solutions. The seminar offers students the opportunity to engage individually and in-depth with questions of design and research in the field of structures and building materials.

The focus for this semester includes the following thematic areas:

  • Timber Gridshells: Model making and documentation for the research project Hybrid Asymptotic Geodesic Timber Grids.
  • Timber Gridshells: Model making and documentation for the research project Exhibition Stand for the Munich Construction Trade Fair (BAU) 2027.
  • IdeenExpo: Preparation and implementation of exhibits, as well as student mentoring at the IdeenExpoHannover (June 20–28)

The course will be conducted in German and English.
