Sebastian Hoyer
Dipl.-Ing. Architect
Sebastian Hoyer studied architecture at the TU Munich as well as at the Welsh School of Architecture at Cardiff University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (2020). He completed his Master's degree at the TUM, specializing in timber construction and structural design. He participated in a Timber Construction Mentoring Program under Prof. Kaufmann, Prof. Nagler, and Prof. Birk, completing his degree with his Master's thesis on asymptotic-geodesic timber grids (2022). During his studies, he worked in various architectural firms across all project phases, focusing on new construction and working with existing structures.
After graduating, Sebastian Hoyer worked at Holzfurtner & Bahner Architects in Munich, primarily taking on tasks such construction and project management. Since December 2023, he has been a research associate at the Chair of Structural Design at the TUM.
During his career he has won several competitions, including the Deutsche Hochschulpreis Holzbau, the MAIV Prize, and the Baden-Württemberg State Student Prize for Innovative Use of Wood, Climate, Recyclability and Timber Construction.
