The central theme of HyThroughGen is the significant acceleration of development cycles for PEMWE through the consistent use of high-throughput methods for material testing, component manufacturing, and full-cell testing. The methods and processes to be developed should enable the evaluation of promising materials and components for suitability in water electrolysis within 2 to 3 years, instead of the usual 10 years.

The goal of this sub-project within HyThroughGen is the development of a high-throughput method for evaluating a large number of technical full cells in which the components/selected materials developed in other sub-projects, primarily MEAs, are tested. The evaluation is based on both the performance and aging of the materials. Existing validated electrochemical measurement methods are standardized and applied in a linked manner, as well as adapted and extended to describe aging phenomena. A phenomenological model at the cell level is used to support the aging investigation. Automated data evaluation and analysis are also included in the project.
